Mindy Griffith

Ms. Mindy Griffith will begin her second year teaching at West Jackson Middle School this upcoming fall. After completing one year as assistant band director, she is excited and humbled to return this year as the head director. Ms. Griffith graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2019 with a bachelors degree in Music Education where she studied flute with renowned artist Angela Jones-Reus. During her time at the University of Georgia, Ms. Griffith served as a drum major for the Redcoat Marching band for two years and was president of the women’s music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota. She also served as the president of the UGA chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership society.

Ms. Griffith currently resides in Athens with two of her best friends and a spoiled dog named Maisy. She is so thankful to be a part of the Jackson County family.
