We are excited to introduce you to the Jackson County High School Band, an exceptional musical program with a rich tradition of excellence dating back to its establishment in 1979. The Jackson County Band Program encompasses a diverse range of ensembles, including a marching band, colorguard, three full-sized concert bands, two jazz bands, and multiple percussion ensembles. Our program has gained recognition nationwide through our performances at various esteemed venues across the country.
Our marching band has consistently achieved remarkable success throughout its history. Over the past decade alone, the marching band has been honored with twelve grand championships. Additionally, they have attained the distinction of being selected as finalists at BOA regionals and a BOA super regional. These achievements demonstrate the dedication, skill, and discipline of our talented students.
The concert ensembles within our program also maintain an exceptional standard. Consistently earning superior ratings, our three concert bands showcase the commitment and musicality of our students. In recognition of their outstanding abilities, our wind ensemble has been invited to perform as distinguished guests at prestigious events such as the Music for All Southeastern Regional Concert Festival at Georgia State University, the University of South Carolina Band Clinic, the University of Georgia January High School Band Festival, and the Georgia Music Educators Association’s In-Service Conference.
Furthermore, our jazz ensemble consistently garners superior ratings and has proudly participated twice in the Essentially Ellington regional competition at the University of North Carolina. Throughout the history of our jazz program, our bands have maintained an enviable record of achieving the highest ratings. They have been chosen three times to perform at the esteemed Georgia Music Educators Association’s In-Service Conference, most recently in 2023.
